9th June of this year is the Dragon Boat Festival in China. The Dragon Boat Festival (Duanwu Festival) is a Chinese traditional festival that commemorates the life and death of the famous Chinese scholar and poet Qu Yuan who suicide on 278 BC. The festival is on the fifth day of the fifth month on the Chinese lunar calendar, and on 9th June in this year.
On this day, Chinese people will eat rice dumplings (zong zi), drink realgar wine (xiong huang jiu), race dragon boats and wearing perfumed medicine bags, etc.
Miao Bin, the co-founder of Meet Culture, hosted a sharing in Chengdu Book Worm named “The Dialogue Between the Ancient Civilizations of the East and the West”, to introduce the similarities and differences of Greece and China, and more importantly to share the traditional culture exchange activities and projects done by Meet Culture so far. He emphasized that his was sharing the “dialogue” involved by himself.
Meet Culture was the one of the first culture organizations who started the traditional culture exchange between Greece and China, and so far they have finished several outstanding projects, and many culture events in Greece. This year, Meet Culture has also started the promotion projects for Greece in China.
On 28th May, Miao Bin already gave a successfully sharing about Traveling in Greece in Buddy Square Chengdu, and on 17th June, he will have a live broadcast about Greece with the Guangzhou Music Radio Station 102.7.
